Breck Boys Hockey Tops Mound-Westonka
The Mustangs advanced to Tuesday's Section 2A semifinal with a 6-2 rout on Friday
The Breck boys hockey team used four first-period goals to storm past Mound-Westonka on Friday, beating the White Hawks 6-2 in the Section 2A quarterfinal at Parade Ice Garden in Minneapolis.
The Mustangs moved on to face Delano on Tuesday in the section semifinals.
Led by two quick goals by Austin Rudnick and Thomas Lidstrom, the Mustangs (18-8) took an early lead and never looked back. Lidstrom had two in the period, and Jack O’Connor rounded out the scoring heading into the first intermission.

After Mound-Westonka notched two goals in the second period, Breck picked up scores from Grant Opperman and Wesley Iverson to round out the scoring.
The White Hawks finished the season 11-12-4.
