Breck Rolls In State Tennis Opener
The Mustangs shut out Foley, 7-0. They will play Blake in Class A semifinals Wednesday.
The Breck boys tennis team had little difficulty in winning its Class A state tournament opener inside a muggy Reed-Sweatt Family Tennis Center on Tuesday afternoon, shutting out Foley by a 7-0 score to advance to the semifinals.
It was a dominant performance for the Mustangs, as Breck won all seven matches in straight sets. Breck will play Blake at 10 a.m. Wednesday morning, with the victor punching its ticket for the state championship match later on in the day.
The Mustangs will play at either 4 p.m. Wednesday if they beat Blake, or will play at 2 p.m. in the Class A third-place match if they loses to the Bears in the semis.
