The artificial turf will allow lawn bowling to begin as soon as weather allows in the spring and will allow play to stretch late into fall. It will also allow for more winter amenities to be added to the surface, like pub curling, without fear of damage.

Golf maintenance staff estimates an annual $10,000–$12,000 maintenance cost savings by replacing the natural turf with artificial turf.

Why This Project And Not Others?

Although some projects around the City are being canceled or postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak, this project stayed on schedule because the contractor had already been hired, and delaying or canceling the project was not practical.
