Calvary Invites Public to 2019 Easter & Holy Week Worship Service

Calvary Lutheran Church, Golden Valley, Minn., invites the public to its Easter and Holy Week worship services, as well as a special art show featuring works inspired by the theme “Art & Faith: The Beauty of Following Jesus.” Calvary is located at 7520 Golden Valley Road.

Easter worship services will be held on Sunday, April 21, at 6:30, 8, 9:30 and 11 a.m.; a Spanish service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Holy Communion will be celebrated at the 6:30 a.m. service, and an ASL interpreter will be part of the 9:30 a.m. service. An Easter brunch will be served from 7:30 to 11:15 a.m. for $5 per person or a maximum of $15 per family.

Worship services will also be held on:

• Maundy Thursday, April 18, at noon and 6:30 p.m. Both Maundy Thursday services will celebrate Holy Communion. A lunch will follow the noon service for $5 per person or a maximum of $15 per family. Calvary’s free weekly Community Meal will be served from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

• Good Friday, April 19, at noon and 6:30 p.m. A Spanish service will be held at 6 p.m.

The Holy Week art show will feature the biblical etchings of Joan Bohlig, as well as dozens of works of photography, painting, drawing, sculpture and calligraphy by numerous visual artists. The free exhibit will be open to the public on:

• Palm Sunday, April 14 - 9 a.m.-noon (a free printmaking workshop with Bohlig will run concurrently)
• Monday, April 15-Friday, April 19 - 9 a.m.-8 p.m.
• Saturday, April 20 - 9 a.m.-noon
• Easter Sunday, April 21 - 8 a.m.-noon
