Calvary Presents "Cul de Sac" Beginning Feb. 10
2016 Lenten Worship Services to Feature Free Original "Dramedy" About "People Like All of Us and a God Like No Other"

What does faith look like today? How can real people discover a sense of purpose and hope? The community is invited to find out through “Cul de Sac,” an original modern-day theatrical series to be presented by Calvary Lutheran Church, Golden Valley, Minn., this Lenten season.
Calvary’s production of “Cul de Sac” will be featured at the church’s weekly Lenten worship services on Wednesdays, Feb. 10-March 16, and Thursday, March 24, at 5:30 and 7 p.m. Calvary is located at 7520 Golden Valley Road. The services are free and open to the public.
Many describe “Cul de Sac” as a “dramedy”—a fitting reflection of the drama and comedy that people encounter in real life. Audiences will meet the Bloom family comprised of dad Alan, mom Emily and the couple’s three kids: Kyle, a sullen, cynical teenager not sure about “this faith thing;” Hope, a school track star driven to succeed and known for her always sunny disposition; and Isaac, a quirky tween who favors commercials over cartoons.

The dramas are based on devotional readings from Rick Warren’s best-seller “The Purpose Driven Life.” Through devotions together, the Bloom family pulls important lessons and key passages from the Bible to inform and inspire their relationships with each other, the rest of the world and, most importantly, Jesus. The themes of each production are:
