The multiyear project involves replacing more than 60 miles of large-diameter pipeline originally installed in the 1940s and 1950s. The pipeline modernization program aims to ensure continued safe, reliable delivery of natural gas that homes and businesses depend on for heating, cooking, and hot water.
This week crews plan on crossing the intersection of Winnetka Ave and 36th Ave N to replace the natural gas main. Although four-way traffic will be maintained during construction, drivers should be aware that the intersection configuration will change and to take precautions when in the area.
