Community invited to join together in giving & gratitude

Calvary hosts Thanksgiving service on Nov. 25 & month-long food drive

GOLDEN VALLEY, MINN. (Nov. 12, 2015) – When done well, an attitude of gratitude and the act of giving seem to go hand in hand. In that spirit, Calvary Lutheran Church invites the public to a community Thanksgiving service on Wednesday, Nov. 25, at 7 p.m. Calvary is located at 7520 Golden Valley Road, Golden Valley, Minn.

The service will feature music, prayer, Bible readings and a special holiday message, as well as a free-will offering for Calvary’s Hunger & Human Needs Fund, which supports local and global relief and development programs. All worship service attendees are invited to stay afterwards for free dessert.

Calvary is also organizing a month-long community food drive benefiting the food shelves of PRISM (Golden Valley) and Community Emergency Services (Minneapolis). The goal is to collect more than 20,000 pounds of non-perishable groceries and hygiene items by the end of November. Visit calvary.org/fooddrive for a list of suggested donations, which may be delivered inside Calvary’s main entrances on the north and south sides of the church.
