Daytripper: Red Wing's Fall Arts Festival
Each week we feature one nearby destination.

RED WING—The 45th Annual Fall Arts Festival will be held on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 8 and 9, in downtown Red Wing. The festival will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.
Attracting more than 10,000 visitors annually, the Red Wing Arts Association’s festival is held each October during the peak fall color season. This juried event brings more than 90 artists to this historic city on the banks of the Mississippi River to sell their creations. The public is invited to purchase the artwork, enjoy the food, the music, and the beauty of scenic Red Wing in the fall. There are a wide variety of children's activities available.
There are lots of other things to do while in the area. Visit the historic St. James Hotel in downtown. Opened in 1875, it is on the National Register of Historic Places. Another historical site is the original train depot. There are plenty of parks for fall hiking, one of the most popular spots being the Cannon Valley Trail, a converted rail line.
