"Differences Between Alzheimer's and Dementia"

Dr. Joshua LaVigne will present "Differences Between Alzheimer's and Dementia" at Covenant Village of Golden Valley.

It’s common to hear the words dementia and Alzheimer’s used interchangeably, but there is a medical difference. Dr. Joshua LaVigne, director of NeuroClinic and Assessments in McHenry, Ill., will present “Differences Between Alzheimer’s and Dementia” on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at 10 a.m., at Covenant Village of Golden Valley, 5800 St. Croix Ave. N., Golden Valley, Minn., 55422.

Dementia is a group of symptoms that can affect a person’s mental tasks and reasoning; it can be caused by Alzheimer’s disease, as well as other diseases, such as Huntington’s or Parkinson’s. LaVigne specializes in diagnosing brain illnesses and injuries with a focus on Alzheimer’s and other dementia-related conditions. He’ll share the latest information about innovative treatments that are now available and describe what those with memory loss are experiencing and how family members and caregivers can help.

The presentation is free and open to the public. For more information, please visit www.CovenantVillageofGoldenValley.org or call 763-732-1422. Covenant Village of Golden Valley is located at 5800 St. Croix Ave. N., Golden Valley, Minn., 55422.
