Golden Valley Census Results

Golden Valley League of Women Voters'  kickoff meeting is next Saturday, September 24, at DaVanni's pizza.  We will meet at 11:30 to order lunch.  Joe Hogeboom, Assistant Golden Valley City Planner, will speak at noon.  He will give a background of the census, how it works, how the data is used, and touch on the Twin Cities as well as Golden Valley trends.  He asked for questions.  Those below were submitted by our board members; please think about what you would like to ask.  The public is invited!

Do Golden Valley seniors stay in their single family homes longer than the average in other areas?
As the population has aged, does the city have more and/or different requests for services?
As the housing stock turns over will younger owners present different service needs?
Did the long census form yield more or different information than that of the previous census? What percentage of people received them?
What are the main issues you, as a planner, see as challenges over the next decade?

We look forward to seeing you on Saturday.
