The voting process will look slightly different as the City is asking voters to adhere to health and safety guidelines set forth by the State of Minnesota and Minnesota Department of Health (see below). Voters should know wait times are expected to be longer while absentee voting at City Hall and on election day as social distancing measures will be taken and building capacity restrictions will be in place.

  • Per State mandate, face coverings or masks must be worn in all public indoor spaces, including when waiting outside to enter. This mandate applies to all polling places, including City Hall.
  • Voters must keep a minimum of 6 feet of distance from others while in line to vote and while waiting outside to enter the polling place.
  • Upon entering, voters are encouraged to use provided hand sanitizer.
  • While inside, voters are asked to follow signage and City staff direction, to keep traffic flowing properly.
  • When exiting, voters are asked to follow signage to avoid contact with other voters entering the building. Where necessary, barriers will be used to divide foot traffic lanes.
  • Upon exiting, voters are encouraged to use provided hand sanitizer.

These same health and safety guidelines will also be in place on election day, Nov 3.
