Free Meal & Scrooge Visit Planned for Community Christmas Celebration on Dec. 17

Calvary to Host a Variety of Worship Services This Christmas Season

GOLDEN VALLEY, MINN. (Dec. 10, 2015) – Calvary Lutheran Church, Golden Valley, Minn., is gearing up for a Christmas season sure to “bless us, every one.” The public is invited to the numerous Christmas worship services taking place at Calvary, 7520 Golden Valley Road, over the coming weeks.


The line-up begins with the Community Christmas Celebration on Thursday, Dec. 17. The event will feature a free Swedish meatball dinner, which will be served from 4:30 to 6:45 p.m. A 7 p.m. worship service will follow with candlelight, Christmas carols and an original live drama of Ebenezer Scrooge, the famed character of A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. A Christmas carol sing-along, crafts for kids, photo booth and several musical ensembles will also be part of the celebration.

On Thursday, Dec. 24, Calvary will hold a total of six Christmas Eve worship services. “Family-friendly” services will take place at 2 and 3:30 p.m., with candlelight services being held at 5, 8:30 and 10 p.m. A Spanish service is scheduled for 7 p.m. A nursery for infants through age 5 will be available from 1:45 to 6:15 p.m. that day. An American Sign Language interpreter will be part of the 3:30 p.m. service.

On Friday, Dec. 25, a Christmas Day worship service with Holy Communion will be held at 10 a.m.
Radio listeners may tune into KKMS 980AM for worship service recordings on Thursday, Dec. 24, at 7:30 p.m. and Friday, Dec. 25, at 3 p.m.
