Get Out: Doggy Playtime And A Big Garage Sale

It's time to plan another weekend, Golden Valley residents. This week you can bring your pooch out to play and pick up some treasures at a multi-family garage sale.

Golden Valley 

• When: At 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. Friday
• Where: 
• Why Go: Well-behaved pooches are encouraged to grab their proof of vaccination and favorite owner for an hour of socializing.
• Price: $10 for the public, $7 for enrolled training school students

• When: From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday; and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday
• Where: 7950 Wesley Drive, Golden Valley
• Why Go: The MOMS Club of Golden Valley invites you to its large multi-family sale, including scads of kids' and household items. A detailed list of sale items can be seen here.

Southwest Minneapolis

• When: From noon to 3 p.m. Sunday
• Where: 
• Why Go: Celebrate the new bike lanes on Blaisdell and 1^st Avenue with bike washing, decorating, racing, rodeo-ing and music.

• When:  From 9 p.m. Friday to 12:30 a.m. Saturday

St. Louis Park

• Why Go: Beginners can get basic stroke instruction, otherwise you and your family are set free to explore the nature of Westwood Lake. Canoes, paddles and lifejackets are provided.

• Why Go: Check out the new Whole Foods Market while enjoying the harvest season with live music, festival fare and seasonal activities.

Lake Minnetonka

• When: From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday
• Where: Gale Woods Farm (7210 County Road 101 Ext, Minnetrista)
• Why Go: Head over to the farm’s annual fall festival featuring artwork and farm products. You can witness border collies in action, enjoy the fall colors on a wagon ride, see sheep being sheared, tour the gardens and orchard, and make a wool craft to take home.
