Golden Valley Man Dies In I-494 Crash With Semitrailer

The 78-year-old man died after his minivan drifted into other vehicles near the France Avenue exit.

BLOOMINGTON, MN — A 78-year-old man from Golden Valley died Monday afternoon after a three-vehicle crash along I-494 in Bloomington, according to Minnesota State Patrol.

The crash happened around 1:15 p.m. when the man's minivan drifted into the left lane near the France Avenue exit and collided with another car. The minivan then crashed into the back of a semitrailer driven by a 46-year-old Minneapolis man.

State police did not immediately release the victim's name. The other involved driver, a 48-year-old from Ellensburg, Wash., was not injured, according to police.
