In Oct 2019, the Golden Valley City Council directed City staff and the Planning Commission to research the narrow lots issue due to some concerns raised by neighbors of narrow lots.
Along with the public forum, the City is conducting a survey asking residents various questions regarding lot size regulations. Postcards containing specific links to the online survey were mailed to every single-family residential property in late December/early January. Those living on a narrow lot will receive one survey, while those living on non-narrow lots will receive a separate survey.

To avoid residents accidentally completing the wrong survey, the City does not plan to publish the survey online. Residents should refer to their postcard to to complete the survey.
For more information about the open house or surveys, visit the Narrow Lots page on the City website or contact the City’s Planning Department at 763-593-8030.
