Golden Valley Rep Invokes 'Legislative Fairies'
Rep. Ryan Winkler raises concerns over where Republicans are getting their financial information.

Representative Rep. Ryan Winkler (DFL- 44B) spent time earlier this week accusing Republicans of using inaccurate figures when making budget decisions.
Winkler tweeted his concerns on Monday after sending a letter to Speaker of the House, Rep. Kurt Zellers (see attached).
Winkler also addressed fellow lawmakers in St. Paul on Monday, saying no one in the Majority can tell him what committee is charged with overseeing the Metropolitan Council, a one billion dollar-per-year government entity.

In the attached video, Representative Winkler wants to know how a proposed budget amendment would affect planning for the Metropolitan Council. Winkler uses the question to illustrate his larger point that the Republican budget is using "imaginary numbers."
"Now we have an amendment that doesn't even have a home in a committee at the legislature. So we're done making up fiscal notes, now we're going to start making up amendments to non-existent funds at the legislature. I guess we could all just put down our microphones, close our computers, go home and let the legislative fairies do our work for us."
