Four of five Golden Valley area schools had lacrosse teams in action on Friday and Saturday.

Lacrosse fans living in Golden Valley had several game choices over the weekend as four-of-five area schools had girls or boys in action on Friday and Saturday.

Breck Boys Lacrosse: Mustangs 10, Holy Angels 9

A 10-9 defeat of Holy Angels improved the Breck boys lacrosse team to 4-6 this season heading into the final week of its regular season.

Steven Kiesel scored six goals with two assists and Jack O'Connor had three goals with one assist; Gabe Vespasiano also scored a crucial goal in the one-tally win.

Armstrong Girls Lacrosse: Blake 15, Falcons 1

The Robbinsdale Armstrong girls lacrosse team took one on the chin in a 15-1 loss to state power Blake on Saturday afternoon.

Laura Grimley, assisted by Jessie Master, scored the only goal of the game for the Falcons.

Cooper Girls Lacrosse: Mound-Westonka 7, Hawks 6

A 7-6 loss to Mound-Westonka dropped the Robbinsdale Cooper girls lacrosse team to 1-10 on the spring. 

Brigette Ottoson scored three times for the Hawks, with Natalie Shaw, Alex Su and Sarah Evans each netting one goal apiece in the defeat.

Benilde-St. Margaret's Girls Lacrosse: St. Louis Park 10, Red Knights 8

The St. Louis Park girls lacrosse team won 10-8 at Benilde-St. Margaret's on Friday night. Individual statistics for the game were not available.

Paige Lawlor leads the Red Knights with 10 goals this spring and the Red Knights are now 4-5 on the season.

Armstrong Vs. Cooper Softball: Falcons 10, Cooper 4

The Armstrong softball team claimed bragging rights in Robbinsdale with a 10-4 defeat of Cooper on Friday. 

Individual statistics were not available. The win improved the Falcons to 3-9 overall and dropped the Hawks to 5-10.

Benilde-St. Margaret's Softball: Red Knights Third In Tourney

An 8-1 thumping of Class A power New Life Academy earned the Benilde-St. Margaret's softball team a third-place finish in a tournament it hosted at Aquila Park on Saturday.

The Red Knights topped Legacy Christian, 12-2, in the tourney opener before falling 7-2 to Prior Lake in the semifinals and closed out Saturday with a 10-8 overall record. Individual statistics were not available.

Hopkins Softball: Royals 11, Minneapolis Southwest 0

The Hopkins softball team shutout Minneapolis Southwest, 11-0, on Friday in five-innings with pitcher Morgan Nybo claiming the victory.

The Royals upped their record to 15-2 with the win.

Armstrong Baseball: Falcons 11, Elk River 3

An 11-3 defeat of Northwest Suburban Conference foe Elk River on Friday gave the Robbinsdale Armstrong baseball team an 11-4 record this season.

Individual statistics were not available. The Falcons enter this week in third place in the conference standings.

Cooper Baseball: Hawks 8, Columbia Heights 5

The Cooper baseball team won 8-5 at Columbia Heights on Friday to improve to 13-1 overall and hold on to the top spot in the North Suburban Conference at 10-1. Individual statistics were not available.

Hopkins Baseball: Royals 9, Chaska 4

The Hopkins baseball team defeated Chaska, 9-4, in a non-conference road game on Friday to improve to 8-9 overall. Individual statistics were not available.

Benilde-St. Margaret's Boys Golf: Red Knights Seventh At Detroit Lakes

The Benilde-St. Margaret's Boys Golf Team finished seventh in the Detroit Lakes Northwest Classic with a score of 640 over two days at the Detroit Lakes Country Club. Individual statistics were not available.
