Mortenson Aims to Build Hampton Inn in Downtown Minneapolis
The 210-room hotel would be nine stories tall.

Golden Valley-based Mortenson Development is seeking to build a 210-room Hampton Inn & Suites on a parking lot at 19 Eighth St. N. in downtown Minneapolis, Finance & Commerce reported Friday.
The nine-story, limited-service hotel is the largest new hotel development in Minneapolis since the recession. It would be a block from the Target Center and just a few blocks from Target field.
The Minneapolis City Planning Commission will discuss the project at a meeting Thursday.
