Mortenson Continues Work on Chicago Bears’ Halas Hall

Mortenson Construction is keeping up a swift pace in its expansion and updating of Chicago Bears headquarters Halas Hall.

The Golden Valley-based company started work as soon as the NFL’s regular season ended Dec. 30 and must complete work on the Lake Forest, IL, facility by Aug. 1, when the Bears start regular season training camp, according to a Mortenson news release.

The project will add 30,000 square feet to Halas Hall’s current 100,000 square feet. There will be a bigger weight room and training room, a new event center, a practice viewing suite, a new kitchen and dining facility and more.

“The Chicago Bears are a world-class football team, and Halas Hall reflects that fact. The renovations will ensure the very best in facilities and experiences for the players, coaches, staff and fans,” says Greg Werner, vice president and general manager of Mortenson Construction’s Chicago office.

Mortenson has built more than 100 sports and event centers worth more than $4 billion total. In February, it was picked to build the new stadium where the Minnesota Vikings will play.
