Paralympic Event Draws International Athletes to Golden Valley

Athletes from all over the world came to Golden Valley to compete in a prestigious race.

Theodore Wirth Park was wall to wall athletes on Wednesday as skiiers took part in the . The event showcases more than one hundred physically disabled athletes from twelve countries.

“We invite everyone to come out and watch these events,” Director of High Performance Paralympic Nordic Skiing for the U.S. Olympic Committee John Farra said. More races will happen on at Theodore Wirth Park.

“I guarantee it will be one of the most amazing athletic displays anyone has seen.”

Many of the athletes competing in the upcoming events are working towards the Paralympic Games in Sochi, Russia two years from now.
