Project STEAM to Help Young Families Explore How the World Works
Calvary Hosts Evening of Activities for Ages 0-5 & Their Parents on Nov. 11

Science, technology, engineering, arts and math—otherwise known together as “STEAM”—are key areas of learning and industry that help people better understand and contribute to the world around them. The Early Childhood Centers of Calvary Lutheran Church, Golden Valley, Minn., invite families with young children (ages 0-5) to explore these phenomena together at Project STEAM, a special event occurring Friday, Nov. 11.
Free hands-on activities will take place from 5:45 to 7:30 p.m.; an optional pizza dinner will be served from 5 to 5:45 p.m. for $5 per person or $15 maximum per family. Calvary is located at 7520 Golden Valley Road in Golden Valley.
Visit calvary.org/steam to RSVP.

During Project STEAM, families will travel from room to room for experiments and projects related to each of the five facets of STEAM. There will also be a special area set aside with sensory stations for infants and toddlers. Families will be provided with free resources to help bring STEAM to life at home through shared activities and recommended reading.
Mike Monson, the “Teaching Juggler,” will be a special guest at Project STEAM. Monson is well known across the Twin Cities for combining the art of balancing, juggling and spinning to demonstrate basic concepts of physics. He also helps kids and adults experiment themselves with a wide variety of equipment, including basketballs, hula hoops, juggling scarves, balance boards, stilts, jump ropes and Frisbees.
