Rock Band of Musicians with Disabilities Set to Inspire Musi
Rock of Ages to perform at music festival on Saturday, September 26

Golden Valley resident Tom Forsberg lives with a mental disability, but that hasn’t stopped him from playing bass for the rock band Rock of Ages, and on Saturday, September 26 he’ll be playing a hometown gig with his band on the main stage at Golden Valley Days.
Rock of Ages is a band of eight musicians, five of whom, like Tom, have disabilities. They specialize in old school hits; their line up for Golden Valley Days includes Twist and Shout, And I Love Her, and Rock This Town.
“This is an extraordinary collection of musicians, and proof of how music can bring us all together,” said Jon Ehresmann, the bandleader and fellow bandmate.

The band is supported in a collaborative effort by Lifeworks, a non-profit that provides services for people with disabilities, and McNally Smith College of Music, of Saint Paul, of which Ehresmann is an alumnus.
Golden Valley Days features all day activities at Golden Valley City Hall, including local music, food, and beer. Find out more at http://gvcfoundation.org/golden-valley-art-music-festival-coming- september/.
