Sex Offender Community Q&A Session Scheduled For October 12 In Golden Valley
The City of Golden Valley has no authority to prohibit released predatory offenders from residing in Golden Valley.

The Golden Valley Police Department (GVPD) received notification from the Minnesota Department of Corrections (MN DOC) that a Level 3 predatory offender, Terrell Antoine Coleman, is moving to the vicinity of the 1900 block of Glenwood Pkwy in Golden Valley. As allowed by Minnesota State Statute, the GVPD has provided a pre-recorded community notification and will conduct a virtual Q&A session Mon, Oct 12, 6-7:30 pm, via Cisco Webex.

State Statute authorizes law enforcement agencies to inform the public of a sexual or predatory offender’s release from a facility or relocation when they believe the information will enhance public safety and protection.
At the Q&A, panelists from the MN DOC, Hennepin County Corrections, and the GVPD will answer questions and concerns regarding the community notification (recorded video).

A public fact sheet regarding predatory registration, Level 3 offender information, and offense information specific to this offender is available on the City website and at the GVPD.
The City of Golden Valley has no authority to prohibit released predatory offenders from residing in Golden Valley. However, it is the GVPD’s goal to provide information to residents, school districts, and area businesses to increase their awareness. This offender has been assigned a Level 3 risk by the MN DOC due to his potential to re-offend and his past criminal behavior. He is not wanted by the police and has served the sentence imposed by the court.
Participate In The Meeting
Prior to attending the Q&A session, residents are encouraged to watch the community notification to learn about the individual and to learn the broader context of the State’s risk management system. Email questions you’d like addressed at the Q&A session to jpaul@goldenvalleymn.gov. Panelists will start the session by answering all questions received by email.
Television: The meeting will be broadcast on Cable Channel 16. A replay of the meeting will be available on the City website the following day. To ask a question during the Q&A section, call 763-593-8060. You will be placed in a queue and put through to ask your question at the meeting in the order your call is received.
Online: The meeting will be streamed live on ccxmedia.org. A link to the stream will be posted on the City’s Facebook during the event. Viewers can ask questions via Facebook and staff will relay those questions to panelists.
Webex: To access the meeting via Webex, click here. The Q&A function will be open for attendees to ask questions to panelists. Questions will be answered verbally.
