There Are Multiple Ways For Golden Valley Voters To Vote In November 3 Election
If you apply more than 46 days before the election, your ballot will be mailed to you at least 46 days prior to the election.

Although the state primary election just ended, the City of Golden Valley is already gearing up for the November 3 general election. Residents should also be thinking about the upcoming election and if they’ll be voting by mail, in-person, or in a different manner.

Vote By Mail
To vote by mail, apply online or print and complete an absentee ballot application (PDF) and return it to Hennepin County Elections either in person, by mail, email, or fax.
If you apply more than 46 days before the election, your ballot will be mailed to you at least 46 days prior to the election. If you apply within 46 days of the election, your ballot will be mailed to you within a day or two of your application being received.

Once you’ve completed your ballot, return it by mail or in person at Golden Valley City Hall.
Vote In Person
Absentee Voting
Golden Valley City Hall will be open 8 am–4:30 pm Mon–Fri beginning Sept 18 for absentee voting and will continue to be open through election day.
The voting process will look slightly different as the City is asking voters to adhere to health and safety guidelines set forth by the State of Minnesota and Minnesota Department of Health. Voters should know wait times are expected to be longer while absentee voting at City Hall and on election day as social distancing measures will be taken and building capacity restrictions will be in place. Election Day Voting
All polling places in Golden Valley will be open 7 am–8 pm on election day, Nov 3. The same health and safety guidelines used during in-person absentee voting will also apply to election day voting. Read more.
Vote By Agent
Eligible voters can authorize an agent to pick up and return an absentee ballot for them only within the seven days preceding the election by completing this form.
1. Choose an agent who:
- You have a pre-existing relationship with
- Is at least 18 years old
- Is not a candidate in the election
2. Complete both the:
3. Have your agent bring the completed forms to Golden Valley City Hall.
4. Your agent will be given your ballot to bring to you.
5. Vote your ballot.
6. Have your agent return your voted ballot to the office they picked it up at.
- Your agent must show an ID with name and signature.
- Voted ballots must be returned by 3 pm on election day at the latest.
