U.S. Census Bureau Deploying Workers To Collect Data From Non-Responsive Households In Golden Valley

Census workers going door to door will not enter homes but will rather stand outside, socially distanced from residents.

August 26, 2020

Golden Valley residents have done an overall exceptional job completing the 2020 census with a self-response rate of nearly 79 percent as of Aug 26. In order to get that number up to 100 percent, the US Census Bureau has deployed workers throughout the country to collect information from households that haven’t responded.

Census workers going door to door will not enter homes but will rather stand outside, socially distanced from residents. Workers will also wear face masks and will follow Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and local public health guidelines throughout the entire visit.

Census takers can be easily identified by a valid government ID badge with their photograph, a US Department of Commerce watermark, and an expiration date on the badge. To confirm a census taker’s identity, the public may contact their regional census center to speak with a Census Bureau representative, by calling 844-330-2020.
