Voting On Primary Election Day In Golden Valley Will Look Different This Year
Voters should know wait times are expected to be longer on election day as social distancing measures will be taken.

This year, voting at Golden Valley precincts will look slightly different for the Aug 11 primary as the City plans to follow all Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Minnesota Department of Heath (MDH), and State of Minnesota guidelines and recommendations, including the new State mask mandate.

Voters should know wait times are expected to be longer on election day as social distancing measures will be taken and building capacity restrictions will be in place.
- Per State mandate, face coverings or masks must be worn in all public indoor spaces, including when waiting outside to enter. This mandate applies to all polling places, including City Hall.
- Voters must keep a minimum of 6 feet of distance from others while in line to vote and while waiting outside to enter the polling place.
- Upon entering, voters are encouraged to use provided hand sanitizer.
- While inside, voters are asked to follow signage and City staff direction, to keep foot traffic flowing properly.
- When exiting, voters are asked to follow signage to avoid contact with other voters entering the building. Where necessary, barriers will be used to divide foot traffic lanes.
- Upon exiting, voters are encouraged to use provided hand sanitizer.
