Work On Centerpoint Energy’s Belt Line Project Set To Begin In Golden Valley

During the project Winnetka Ave will remaining open to traffic with lane shifts and lane closures to route traffic around the work area.

Beginning the week of May 25, CenterPoint Energy crews will be working near 23rd Ave on Winnetka Ave installing new distribution gas main towards Medicine Lake Rd. The following week, another crew will begin work on the Belt Line Project at 10th Ave and Winnetka Ave working north towards Medicine Lake Rd.

During the project Winnetka Ave will remaining open to traffic with lane shifts and lane closures to route traffic around the work area. Drivers should expect delays.

The multiyear project involves replacing more than 60 miles of large-diameter pipeline originally installed in the 1940s and 1950s. The pipeline modernization program aims to ensure continued safe, reliable delivery of natural gas that homes and businesses depend on for heating, cooking, and hot water.
