Workshops help incoming kindergartners get ready

Robbinsdale Area Schools will host a series of upcoming workshops for parents to prepare new kindergartners entering the district next fall.

Robbinsdale Area Schools will host a series of upcoming workshops for parents to prepare new kindergartners entering the district next fall. Let’s Get Ready for Kindergarten is a new series of workshops and resources to provide families with practical tools to have their new kindergartner ready on day one. Each workshop is offered at no charge to families.

“We have designed a program and set of resources that will prepare students to enter kindergarten with a greater awareness of some of the basic skills they need to succeed,” said Monica Potter, director of early childhood programs. “We hope families will come and see how our strong program is preparing students to succeed throughout their K-12 experience. “

The 2015-2016 school year will mark the second year of statewide all-day kindergarten.
