$2,000 Worth of Broken Windows?!

A St. Louis Park man faces a felony charge following accusations that he broke out a vehicle’s windows at the Hopkins Pavilion.  

Officers went to the Pavilion on May 20 after the unidentified vehicle owner reported that 18-year-old Joseph MacGregor Shaw was breaking windows on a Subaru Outback, Officer Stacy Lakotas wrote in the charging documents. Estimates later put the damage between $1,900 and $2,000.  

Because the damage was worth more than $1,000, Shaw has been charged with first-degree damage to property— a felony that carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.  

Shaw was released from Hennepin County jail May 23 on $5,000 bond. He’s scheduled to appear in court at 9 a.m. June 27.
