Martineau, René J. "Ray" Age 94 of Hopkins,
passed away peacefully on Dec. 16, 2011. Survived by wife, Ilene; daughter, Shelley; son, Michael with special thanks to Mary Helmbrecht. Preceded in death
by siblings, Elzea, Lara, Rosa, Oscar, Flora, Alma, Laurie, Yvonne, Ole, Lacille, Ann, Leo and Aime. René's presence will be missed by all who knew him. His laugh could ignite the room and he always kept a positive attitude. He was a
WWII veteran who stormed the beaches at Normandy. Ray was a life time member of the Hopkins VFW and a member of the ritual team for yrs. He loved to take long walks, read, sing and dance. Memorials preferred to family or Hopkins VFW. Private interment at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. A Memorial service is being planned and will be posted within the next week.
