TalentXchange hosting second round of auditions Feb. 19 in response to popular demand for Make-A-Wish Foundation of Minnesota fundraiser
When TalentXchange asked if “Minnesota’s Got Talent,” the answer, according to the 200 performers who responded to the organization’s outreach for its Jan. 27 auditions, was a resounding “Yes!” The Edina-based production company is in the process of creating a lineup for its June 30 “Change the World” talent show at Edina High School to benefit Make-A-Wish-Foundation of Minnesota ®. The second round of auditions will take place noon to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19, at DanceXchange, 6885 Washington Ave., Edina. “The turnout was so great,” said TalentXchange founder Christina Koskinen. “Many people called wanting another audition time, as they couldn't make the last date. Others heard about the celebrities attending and wanted a chance to be able to make it to the top 10 to perform in the finale with them.” The 10 finalists will earn an opportunity to display their talent while at the same time raising money for a wonderful cause. Celebrities on hand to judge and perform include “So You Think You Can Dance” contestants Jesus Solorio and Melissa Sandvig, MTV's Aundrea Fimbres of Danity Kane, pop singer Justin Stein, Broadway singer Colleen Ballinger (also known as the YouTube sensation “Miranda Sings”), the Side Swipe martial arts dance performance crew from “America’s Got Talent,” actress/dancer Menina Fortunato and a surprise celebrity guest appearance. “Our callbacks will happen March 9,” Koskinen said. “We will then cut down to the final 10 from there.” Cost to audition is $20. To reserve an audition time, call 763-300-2199 or email talentxchange@aol.com. All acts must require less than 30 seconds of stage set-up. All auditions will be recorded for later viewing by some of L.A.’s top talent agencies.
