Athletic Administrators Association Recognizes Hopkins Director
Dan Johnson will receive the organization's Distinguished Service Award.

The National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association will award Hopkins Activity Director Dan Johnson with its prestigious Distinguished Service Award on Dec. 13 at the National Athletic Directors Conference in Indianapolis.
Johnson is one of 10 activity directors in the country to receive this honor this year.
Only six Minnesota activity directors have received the award over the past 25 years.

The award recognizes βlength of service, special accomplishments and contributions to interscholastic athletics at the local, state and national levels.β
βI am very proud to receive this award, and even more so to represent ,β Johnson was quoted in a school district news release. βI am so fortunate to have the opportunity to do this job and to have the support of our administration, staff, coaches, and parents.β

Johnson has been activity director for the past 13 years. He is responsible for 32 high school teams, 14 junior high teams, six fine arts activities involving 170 coaches and 10 fine arts directors.
βDanβs leadership is engaging, and a model for athletics and activities leadership,β Superintendent John Schultz was quoted in the news release. βDan knows just about every athlete and performer who is under his care, regardless of their skill or ability.β
