Blotter: Domestic Violence and Car Break-Ins

Tuesday, Jan. 17

  • 7:38 p.m. — A man went to a home on the 100 block of Ninth Avenue North, kicked in the door and refused to leave.
  • 8:25 p.m. — Someone went through an unlocked vehicle while it was parked on the 300 block of 20th Avenue North. Change was missing.
  • 10:25 p.m. — Police received another report that someone went through a vehicle parked on the 300 block of 20th Avenue North. Nothing was missing.

Wednesday, Jan. 18

  • 8:11 a.m. — Police learned that someone went through a car parked on the 200 block of 19th Avenue North. Nothing was missing, and there was no damage.
  • 8:31 a.m. — A resident reported that someone went through a car parked on the 200 block of 16th Avenue North.
  • 12:56 p.m. — Police learned that someone stole a wallet from a vehicle parked on the 100 block of 20th Avenue North.
  • 1:40 p.m. — Another resident reported a vehicle had been broken into while it was parked on the 100 block of 15th Avenue North.
  • ·      8:36 p.m. — A man knocked on a woman’s door at and told her she smells. Police were unable to find the man.
  • 10:41 p.m. — A Westside Village woman told police her father assaulted her.

Thursday, Jan. 19

  • 7:45 p.m. — The told police a drunken man was swearing and asking customers for money. He left before officers arrived.

Friday, Jan. 20

  • 7:19 p.m. — Officers charged a 42-year-old man with two counts of fifth-degree domestic assault and one count of interfering with an emergency call following a report of an assault at a Mainstreet Apartment. A woman said her husband broke a window and crawled into the apartment and then began breaking things. There was broken glass on the stairs, the television was broken and there was blood in the living room and kitchen. The woman said her husband punched a glass cabinet. She said she tried to call police but her husband broke her phone and grabbed her by the hair. She bit his hand to get free. After he left, she called police. Officers found the man a block away. His hand was bloody, and officers could smell alcohol on his breath.

Saturday, Jan. 21

  • 1:12 a.m. — reported that a man stole a phone from someone in the bar.

Sunday, Jan. 22

  • 1:02 a.m. — A bouncer struggling to get a few patrons out of the bar flagged down an officer for help. The officer issued a trespass notice to the people, and a sober driver took them home.
  • 1:19 a.m. — Police learned that someone stole from a Parkside Apartments washing machine.
  • 6:16 a.m. — A resident told police a Yamaha F50 tlrc boat motor was stole from a Westside Apartments rental garage. There was no sign of forced entry, and the motor weighed 250 pounds and was attached to a boat.
  • 10:42 p.m. — A Meadow Creek Condos resident told police he thinks someone has a key to his unit. An ashtray was moved, and three lighters were left on the doorsill. Police advised him to change his locks.
