Blotter: Missing Marijuana, Bugged Phones and ‘Jesus Loves You’

Monday, Sept. 12

  • 3:34 a.m. — A resident reported hearing noise in the parking lot and being “scared.” The resident voluntarily went to Methodist Hospital.
  • 8:37 a.m. — Police took a resident to Hennepin County Adult Detention Center following a dispute at .
  • 9:30 a.m. — A man called a bus company and said, “Things are going to happen” if they don’t move the bus stop at Sixth Avenue South and Sixth Street South. No one answered the phone where the call came from, but police left a message.
  • 4:34 p.m. — A resident told police that a man in his 40s, who appeared to be drunk, was yelling “Jesus loves you,” scaring children getting off the bus near Fifth Avenue South and Sixth Street South. Officers were flagged down near for a report of the same man. Officers were unable to find him.

Tuesday, Sept. 13

  • 12:18 p.m. — A woman at a bus stop on the 900 block of Mainstreet told police she had been robbed. When officers arrived, they found that the woman was drunk and unsure exactly what had happened. Officers released the woman to a sober party.
  • 12:43 p.m. — Police received a report about a drunk man harassing people near . Officers took him to Human Services.

  • 6:15 a.m. — Someone stole a $1,000 bike from a bike rack at Parkside Apartments.
  • 1:23 p.m. — A man told police that people were entering his Hopkins Park Plaza home, taking things and bugging his phone. He also said a hospital was involved in an unspecified way. The man was unable to demonstrate that a crime occurred.
  • 8:38 p.m. — A resident reported a robbery at an unspecified location.

Friday, Sept. 16

  • 9:20 p.m. —  reported a $30 shoplifting. The suspects left in a white vehicle.
  • 11:44 p.m. — Police received a report of security fighting with several people. Officers took two people into custody for disorderly conduct.

  • 7:29 p.m. — Officers received a report of a boy with marijuana at . Security lost the marijuana before officers arrived.

Sunday, Sept. 18

  • 9:22 p.m. — Police received a report of a suspicious blue Ford Taurus at Brentwood Park Townhomes. The reporting party told officers that the vehicle left when the party noticed the smell of marijuana.
