Blotter: Peeping Toms and School Break-ins

Sunday, May 20

  • 12:54 a.m. — A Sixth Avenue South resident told police a neighbor was pounding on his door and wanted to fight because he’d asked the neighbor’s wife to turn down music in her vehicle.
  • 1:35 a.m. — A Ninth Avenue North resident reported that a drunken person was at the residence. Police arrested the person for violating a no contact order.
  • 9:22 a.m. — A man with a large camera was reported to be looking in windows near the corner of Eighth Avenue and Third Street. Police were unable to find the man.
  • 3:26 p.m. — Someone stole an iPod, computer and wallet—worth $3,000 total—from the green room. Staff checked video and identified suspects.

Monday, May 21

  • 12:18 a.m. — Someone punched a woman outside the .
  • 11:18 a.m. — Police received a report that someone broke into a vehicle parked at and stole a laptop, tablets, camping gear and miscellaneous clothes.
  • 11:20 a.m. — Police received another report of a theft from a vehicle that was parked northwest of the 4900 block of Malibu Drive.
  • 3:36 p.m. — Someone stole a phone from a Comcast vehicle parked on the 200 block of Ninth Avenue North.

Tuesday, May 22

  • 10:03 a.m. — A Nook was reported stolen from an classroom. The Nook was taken Friday.
  • 10:40 a.m. — A resident report that a vehicle was broken into while it was parked at Greenfield Apartments.
  • 11:33 a.m. — Eisenhower Elementary School reported that someone broke into the school and the teachers’ lounge the previous Tuesday.
  • 11:54 a.m. — Someone stole two skateboards, worth $400 total, from an Althea Lane yard.
  • 4:19 p.m. — A vehicle was broken into on the 700 block of Oak Ridge Road.

Wednesday, May 23

  • 1:50 a.m. — The Holiday service station told police that a man stole sunflower seeds and gum. He left the store with a woman before officers arrived. Police were unable to find the man.
