St. John's Principal Kathleen Segna said teachers in the school talked to their classes about the incident individually so that they could inform the students in an age-appropriate manner. The school also sent a note home with children telling parents about the incident and asking them to keep the Seward family in their thoughts and prayers.
The students, themselves, prayed for him at their daily 9:30 a.m. Mass. They also made cards that have been delivered to Seward at the hospital.

"We're doing as good as we can do," Segna said.
Seward lives within the boundaries of and also has a relative there. Students at that school continued to take Minnesota Comprehensive Tests as planned. Teachers watched the students and told them about the incident at the end of school.
"We're going to take care of our kids today, and talk to them at the end of the day," Glen Lake Principal Beth Potter said Wednesday morning.
Witnesses on the scene said that the female driver was visibly shaken after the accident. The sedan she was driving was reportedly towed from the accident scene.
Minnetonka officers are working alongside officials from the Minnesota State Patrol to investigate the incident, said Minnetonka Police Chief Mark Raquet. He also said that the investigation included an accident reconstruction.
