(UPDATED) 'Careless Smoking' Starts Fire at Westbrooke Park Condos
The fire damaged two units in the 11th Avenue complex.
(Updated: Oct. 4 10:36 p.m.) Careless smoking started a fire at about 9 p.m. Tuesday at Westbrooke Park Condominiums, Fire Capt. Mike Wenscau said.
The fire damaged two units in the 11th Avenue South complex, Wenscau said. No one was hurt, but paramedics treated a pregnant woman for smoke inhalation
Flames initially extended up the full front of the building. They died down and appeared to disappear. However, firefighters found more flames when they cut into the building. The firefighters quickly extinguished those flames.

Witnesses gathered around the scene as police and firefighters responded. Officers eventually cordoned off the area while firefighters finished their work.
The total cost of the damage is not yet known.
