(POLL) Visa Gone From Hennepin County Service Centers
The change comes because Visa rules ban passing transaction fees on to customers.
Customers at Hennepin County’s seven service centers will have to rethink how they make payments.
Starting Jan. 9, the centers will no longer accept Visa, according to a county news release. The change is brought about because of Visa rules that ban passing on transaction fees to customers.
The change is made in accordance with a Minnesota Department of Public Safety Driver and Vehicle Services Division’s mandate regarding credit card procedures.

The service centers are still accepting Discover and Master Card, although customers will have to pay a 2.45 percent convenience fee that the service providers charge to handle credit card transactions.
