Hopkins JV and Varsity Boys Rugby Teams had a successful day in the Metrodome on June 9, with both teams winning state titles.
The JV team rolled through the state tournament, beating Edina 47 - 0 in the semi-finals, followed by a 32-0 win over Duluth to become the state champions.
The Varsity Team first beat Wayzata in the semi-finals 17-10, and went on to defeat Robbinsdale 22-10 in the State Plate Championship match.
Royals Simeon Tschumper earned the MVP Award in the JV Championship match, while senior Trace Bolstad earned the MVP honors in the varsity match.
