Hopkins Council Signs Off on Powell Business Center Upgrade

A Powell Business Center upgrade won formal approval from the Hopkins City Council on Tuesday.

The building, whose most visible tenant is Navab Brothers, is a 3,400-square-foot addition to the building’s second floor, an elevator and a new glass and stone exterior.

The upgrades will make room for a small insurance agency that’s already lined up to move into the building.

The 137,000-square-foot building, located at 7900 Excelsior Blvd., is currently at capacity with about 20 tenants.

Building owner Alex Ugorets said construction will start in two to three months and be completed before winter.
