Hopkins Evening Lions Improve Downtown Park

The Lions donated a storage building in Downtown Park to the City of Hopkins and the Hopkins Business and Civic Association.

Visitors to may have noticed a new addition to the space.

The Hopkins Evening Lions donated a storage building to the City of Hopkins and the Hopkins Business and Civic Association. They also donated—60 folding chairs that will be used for Music in the Park, according to the club.

Club members designed and built the structure themselves. The building sits in Downtown Park and will make it easier for residents to set up for events in the park. Previously, chairs had to be loaded and transported from the Hopkins Elks Lodge on Eighth Avenue South.

The building is not the Lion’s first improvement to the park. Earlier this summer club members gave the band shell a facelift—doing staining, painting, concrete patching and general cleanup.
