Hopkins Gymnast L'Heureux Headed To State; Royals Sixth In 6AA
Senior takes third in sectional all-around; Koski has chance at Class AA berth in balance beam.
Hopkins senior Therese L'Heureux is on her way to the State Class AA Gymnastics Meet after finishing third in the all-around at the Section 6AA competition on Saturday at Richfield High School.
L'Heuereux recorded a score of 34.525 to finish behind only Wayzata's Maddie Berglund (35.775) and Kelsey Metz (35.125) in the all-around; she took first on the balance beam with a score of 9.175, fourth on floor exercise with a 8.9, seventh on vault with an 8.5 and 10th on the uneven bars at 7.95.
As a team, Hopkins placed sixth with an overall score of 123.125.

While the majority of the Royals squad had their season come to an end on Saturday, sophomore Eleanor Koski has a chance to join L'Heuereux at state in the beam competition.
Koski stood in 13th place in beam with a score of 8.2, advancing as one of the top 16 competitors in the event to the 6AA individual finals to be held on Wednesday at Hopkins High School.

If Koski is able to move up to one of the top four slots in the final, she would also qualify for the state meet — scheduled to be held on Feb. 25 and 26 at the University of Minnesota Sports Pavilion.
