Hopkins Murder Suspect Arrested in Alberta
Ahmed Abdulqadir Abdi is accused of shooting a man in the head in Minneapolis.
Royal Canadian Mounted Police arrested a Hopkins man who had been featured on Hennepin County’s most wanted list, according to a Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office news release.
Ahmed Abdulqadir Abdi, 29, has been wanted for more than five years on suspicion of shooting a man in the head in Minneapolis. A Hennepin County warrant for first-degree murder was issued for his arrest in 2005.
Royal Canadian Mounted Police arrested Abdi on Monday in connection with an assault at a bar in Alberta, Canada. After fingerprinting him, they determined that he was wanted on the Hennepin County warrant.

Abdi is in jail in Alberta awaiting extradition to Hennepin County.
