Hopkins Player Finishes Strong in World Series of Poker Main Event

Todd Breyfogle came away with $32,871 in the tournament.

Hopkins resident Todd Breyfogle cashed in with $32,871 in earnings at the 43rd Annual World Series of Poker No-Limit Hold’em Main Event.

Breyfogle finished 328th out of 6,598 players in the competition, which took place July 7 through Monday.

The tournament had a $10,000 buy-in and $62,021,200 prize pool. The WSOP Main Event winner won't be determined until October, when the tournament resumes with the final nine players. The minimum payout for all "October 9" players is $757,798.

In addition to Hopkins, Minnesota also had players from Little Canada, Wayzata and St. Paul finish in the top 666, which starts with winnings of $4,806.
