Hopkins Police Investigating Saturday Morning Shooting at Brentwood

A man was wounded after someone fired shots from a white car near the townhome complex.

A 19-year-old man was wounded in a shooting at Brentwood Park Townhomes early Saturday morning, Hopkins police announced.

The man was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center for treatment and has already been released, said Police Sgt. Michael Glassberg, who declined to specify where the man was shot because of the ongoing investigation.

Police went to the Brentwood complex at 3:57 a.m. following a report of multiple shots fired, according to a Police Department news release. The victim said the shots came from a white car with multiple people inside.

Because of the ongoing investigation, Glassberg wouldn’t say whether the shooting was a drive-by or provide further details about how it happened.

Investigators are still looking into whether there is any connection between the victim and the shooter. It's not known whether the incident is gang related.
