Hopkins Receives Financial Reporting Award

For the 22^nd year in a row, has received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United State and Canada, the city announced Monday.

The certificate—presented to —is the highest recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting. It encourages state and local governments to go beyond generally accepted accounting principles.

An impartial panel evaluated Hopkins to ensure it met the high standards and demonstrated a “spirit of full disclosure” that clearly communicated the city’s financial story and encouraged people to read the financial reports.
