Hopkins Rugby Shines at 27th Annual All Saints Rugby Tournament

The undefeated boys varsity rugby team and the girls team were unbeaten at the All Saints Rugby Tournament in St. Cloud this weekend, while the boys junior varsity team won one match and lost another.

Boy varsity won the tournament by defeating Edina 29-5 and North Shore (Duluth) 29-8.

The girls team beat Hastings 34-0 and followed that up with a 34-0 win over Rogers. Due to a shortage of players and risk of injury, Hopkins chose not to play in the championship match to Armstrong.  

Boys junior varsity defeated Edina 17 to 10 and lost a tight game to North Shore 12 to 10.

Defense for all three teams only gave up six tries, one penalty kick and one conversion, totaling 35 points.

The boys teams plays North Shore May 5 in a regular season match. The girls team, which has a bye this week, returns May 9 at Rogers.
