Hopkins Wrestlers Fall Early in State Tournament

Henry Wolfbauer, Trey Goeman and Romar Daniel all competed in this weekend's state tournament.

All three wrestlers in this week’s state tournament were knocked out with successive losses.

Henry Wolfbauer, Trey Goeman and Romar Daniel put on strong showings in the section tournaments—with Wolfbauer and Goeman winning the 126-pound and 182-pound classes, respectively.

But Goeman and Daniel lost their first match in the individual portion of the state tournament that took place Friday and Saturday at the Xcel Energy Center and then lost in the first round of the consolation finals.

Wolfbauer defeated Philip Anderson of Rogers 15-5 to advance to the quarterfinals but lost his next two matches.
