Performed by the sixth, seventh and eighth grade students at Notre Dame Academy (NDA), Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor® Dreamcoat will be presented to the public, starting Thursday evening, March 13.
The NDA performance is unique from that of other middle school plays in that participation is a requirement of the school’s curriculum. Middle school students, who otherwise might not have volunteered for an on-stage role, find themselves cast in key and integral parts and pushed to levels they might have never thought possible. The experience of the theatre and the success they achieve will be with them for the rest of their lives.
In this year’s amateur production, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor® Dreamcoat, the Biblical saga of Joseph and his coat of many colors, comes to vibrant life in this delightful musical parable. Set to an engaging cornucopia of musical styles, from country-western and calypso to bubble-gum pop and rock 'n' roll, this Old Testament tale emerges both timely and timeless. The evening performances promise entertaining and wholesome family entertainment.
Public performances are scheduled for 7:00 pm on March 13, 14 and 15. Additionally, there is a matinee show at 1:00 pm March 16. Call 612-868-2955 for ticket information or visit the school website for an order form at www.nda-mn.org/academics/drama.asp.
