Dozens of free programs for children, teens, and adults are presented each month at Hennepin County libraries. Baby Storytime 

Thursdays, May 3-24, 10:30 a.m. at Hopkins Library

For children from birth to 24 months. Delight and stimulate your baby's senses with books and music. Build brain power.

Author Talk: Doug Ohman 

Tuesday, May 8, 6:30 p.m. at Hopkins Library

Local photographer Ohman's "Libraries of Minnesota" features stunning photographs and library stories from seven of Minnesota's best-known writers of books for children and young adults. This program is part of a celebration of 100 years of library service in Hopkins. Books will be available for purchase and signing.

Spoken Culture: Pathway to School Readiness

Saturday, May 19, 2-5 p.m. at Hopkins Library

Pre-kindergarten. How can you prepare your child for kindergarten success? Learn the value of sharing your culture's folktales through oral storytelling and books.

This project is funded with money from Minnesota's Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund. Presented in partnership with A-GRAD, a Hennepin County initiative to improve graduation rates.

Master Gardener: Best Plants for Tough Sites

Tuesday, May 22, 6 p.m. at Hopkins Library

Explore the best plants for 30 tough sites such as alkaline and clay soils. Also covers boulevard and rain gardens, shrubs for shade, deer-resistant plants and plants that will survive under a walnut tree.

Presented in collaboration with Hennepin County Master Gardeners, University of Minnesota Extension.
